Alopecia is an autoimmune disease during which people lose their hair excessively. This means that the amount of lost hair strands per day reaches above the average (200-250 strands lost per day). During this unfortunate disease, our hair follicles are attacked by our own organism (immune system), which turns against them for an unexplained reason, and as a result people’s hair can appear visibly thinner, and in more severe cases people even lose substantial amounts of hair.
